Team Subpackages Help Information

Team Subpackages are used to separate a larger system package into smaller subsets for teams to review and edit their specific data. Team Subpackages allow you to group your checklists by the particular individual checklist for a team to review or edit/update. It also allows grouping the hardware list, software list, ports/protocols/services listing as well as the score history of patches on those devices into smaller subsets from the larger system package.

This allows smaller groups or teams to view and edit their checklist data and/or patch and hardware data without viewing or editing data from other checklists and devices. The teams are given permissions into just their team subpackage and cannot view or edit other data, cannot view the compliance data and document and list general evidence. And the reports across the system package are restricted to those with system package level permissions.

Listing Team Subpackages

Your main Home Dashboard as well as the Team Subpackages main listing page shows all team subpackages where you have some kind of access to view. To see the team subpackage you at least need a “reader” access. See the Security Help Area for more information on roles and access levels. To view more detailed information visit the Team Subpackage Listing Help.

View a Team Subpackage

Anyone with any permission within a team subpackage, whether a reader or creator or owner, is allowed to view the team subpackage information. To view more detailed information visit the Team Subpackage Record Help.

Viewing Checklists

To view checklists, you view your team subpackage as described just above. Then you can see all checklists, scores, and click on them to open them in the browser window. To view more detailed information visit the Team Subpackage Checklist Help.

Loading Patch Scans

To have OpenRMF® Professional use the patch scan data, you load a .nessus, .xml, or properly formatted .json file into the specific team subpackage and allow it to process the data. To view more detailed information visit the Loading Patch Scans Help.

Viewing Patch Scans

You can view the patch scans and the patch scan score information off the team subpackage page. This will list all devices/servers and their scores as well as the individual plugins/patches that are causing the issues. To view more detailed information visit the Viewing Patch Scans Help.

Explaining Patch Score

Patch Scan data also generates a score, specifically a System Patch Scan Score. This shows the number of items that are problems with operating system patches in your team subpackage and their severity. To view more detailed information visit the Patch Scan Score Explained Help.

Managing Ports, Protocols and Services (PPSM)

Patch Scans record all port, protocol, and service that is actively found on each device. This data is recorded and put into the report results for scans. OpenRMF® Professional automatically pulls that PPSM data per device and records it for use and management. You can view the PPSM data and also record what boundaries it crosses if any, for inbound and outbound. To view more detailed information visit the Patch Scan PPPSM Help.

Managing Hardware Assets

Patch Scans record all devices found when run on your network. This device listing is saved to a Hardware listing that lets you manage this list and record other information such as description, purpose, and firmware information. You also can add your own hardware manually for things not automatically found in your scan. To view more detailed information visit the Patch Scan Hardware Listing Help.

Managing Software Assets

Patch Scans record all software found when run on your network. This software listing is saved to a Software list inside your team subpackage for managing and reporting. You also can add your own software listing for those items not automatically found during the scan. To view more detailed information visit the Patch Scan Software Listing Help.

POAM Records

Your Team Subpackage POAM contains a subset of the larger sytem package POAM, filtered for those checklists or devices within your team subpackage. To view more detailed information visit the Team Subpackage POAM Help.
