Create Checklists from Templates
There are two ways to create new checklists from Templates. One is using the Template Listing page and selecting one or more checklists. The bulk menu allows you to create new checklists in any System Package where you have Create Checklist permission.
The other way is from within the System Package itself. You can click the Create button above the Checklist listing and search for the proper Template to create a new checklist in your current system package.
Create Checklists within a System Package
On the System Package page, click the Create button (you must have Create Checklist permission) to go to the screen shown below. Select the type of template and click the List button. From the list of Templates check one or more you wish to use to create checklists. Then click the Create button. Your checklists are created accordingly.
You can do this with 1 or more checklists if you wish, as it is a bulk create operation. Select all fields you wish to fill in and enter the details for hostname, FQDN, IP, Marking and the other fields as shown below.
Note this will increase your number of checklist and update the checklist score appropriately. Any vulnerabilities in the checklist that are not marked as Not a Finding or Not Applicable are automatically added to your POAM as well, if that is active. And your next compliance generation will take into account all the checklist information.
This functionality is also available through our API as well.
Create Checklists from a Template Listing
One feature you can do from the Template area also is to create checklists from a template. You can use the listing page to find your DISA, Organizational, CIS or System Package template and then click the checkbox to open the Bulk Menu. Choose the “Create Checklist in System” and then click the Apply button. Choose the system and the Template is then loaded into that System.
The checklist will be an exact copy of the template for the checklist details and vulnerability entries. The hostname will be “Unknown” and you will have to fill that in yourself. You can edit the hostname individually or with the Bulk Edit Details option from the checklist listing.
You can do this with 1 or more checklists if you wish, as it is a bulk create operation. If just creating a checklist from a single template, you can click the ...
menu to the far right of the template listed and choose Create Checklist from there as well.
Note the “add hostname” is only available from within the System Package create checklist from template feature, as well as calling this functionality from the API.
